Should You Promote Products Based on Price or Value?
With just a quick search you can find multiple resources available today to guide you on how to select your niche and your products to promote.
Once you get those guides you will find that most gurus will coach you that when selecting a product to promote you need to be sure that the commissions you will earn on a sale are sufficient to cover the cost of the advertising you will need to do to promote the product or you can quickly lose the farm. There are also different philosophies on selecting your niche to make sure there is sufficient audience demand and it isn't an over-saturated market.
Personally, I would recommend leading with with your customer's experience in mind instead of what is going to go in your pocket. You don't IGNORE what is going to go in your pocket but you can't go wrong if you lead with creating a rewarding, beneficial experience for your customers. If you build trust by giving them a good experience, they will trust you with their money on higher priced products later.
Prioritize value. If you are offering something of value, then the saturation and demand will take care of themselves as long as you can come up with your unique selling proposition.
You can select a product with a higher price that pays a good commission, but don't assume that value will be there. I have learned that lesson the hard way being disappointed with many a 4 figure coaching program that failed to deliver on the hype.
To increase your likelihood of longevity and loyal customers, my suggestion is to vet your products for real value then price. Obviously you can't ignore the price but it should take backseat to value. You have a better ultimate outcome if you can sell quality products that might cost a little more or pay a bit lower commissions but will serve your customers. You will see fewer refunds, plus create a better experience for your customer.
